The bedding was fairly comfortable and the bathroom was nice, and breakfast was decent. However, the place wasn’t clean at all—no housekeeping before we arrived, dust, cobwebs on the floor, and there was no water tap at the base.

The owner Keith really pulled us out of a jam! Ryanair had left us stranded at Bergerac airport because they didn’t book us a place after a delayed flight, and a booking slip‑up meant Keith wasn’t expecting us, yet he let us in at 10.30pm, set up a bed, handed us breakfast the next morning, and even drove us back to the airport. We can’t imagine what we’d have done without him!

We noticed right on arrival that the place wasn’t properly maintained, probably because the host is old and has health problems. The rooms hadn’t been cleaned for days, the floor was covered in dust and dead insects, the garden was planted but neglected, the above‑ground pool was out of order, and the wooden terrace was ruined and inaccessible. Everything is lacking. A simple upgrade of the facilities and better landscaping would make the spot pleasant. Cleaning must be done rigorously after each stay. We were very disappointed, so we advise avoiding this place despite its attractive price.
Keith welcomed us, and the large family room was as shown in the photos, with a clean bathroom; the house was quiet. We had to leave early because of an issue, so I can’t comment on the bedding or breakfast. The outdoor areas—garden and pool—didn’t match the description; the pool was unusable and apparently has been that way since at least 2024. The milk in the fridge was already opened and expired for two weeks, and the room is in the attic, so it gets very hot during heat waves. Also note that Keith only speaks English.

The spot is gorgeous and the welcome was warm. Unfortunately the owner couldn’t get everything sorted the way he’d like because of setbacks and health issues, but with a bit of help from his family soon it’ll be a lovely place again.
