I liked how friendly the staff were and they handled extra requests at breakfast, like gluten‑free rolls, with ease. However, from Friday to Sunday I stayed at the hotel, and on Saturday morning I mentioned that the shower water was only lukewarm and asked for a cushion for my balcony and a cloth to wipe the table and chairs because it kept raining. They promised to sort it out and also to fix the shower water, but that never happened. On Sunday morning the water was still lukewarm and neither the cushion nor the cloth was provided.

The location was great for us because we came by train to Hamburg, though the rail connection could have been better without the replacement service, which is currently not in place. We also had a wellness weekend at Vabali Spa, and the location worked well for that. The room, however, smelled strongly of “hash.”

Parking was free and the location was central, and the staff were very friendly. The bathroom, however, always flooded.

We stayed twice. The breakfast was very good and there’s a nice restaurant nearby. The room had no air‑conditioning and felt very stuffy, there was no fridge, which is unacceptable for a four‑star hotel. The bed was very narrow, making it hard to sleep, and the pillow was also poor.
