After 50 years of staying at Ocean Shores, we booked this weekend for our 10‑year anniversary in January hoping for the fireplace room we’d had twice before, yet we were handed a dirty, rundown room instead. Management supposedly changed in April, but they gave us a room we didn’t request—specifically a room with “2” queen beds—when we’d asked for the fireplace room; we were celebrating an anniversary, not looking for two beds.

The place is in a decent spot, but the carpet was badly stained, the lampshade was dirty, and the window screens were filthy with a moldy piece of wood keeping them shut. The bedside table was grossly warped, and the neighbors upstairs kept running back and forth past quiet hours, even with a barking dog.

Nothing positive to say. They misrepresented the pet fee, charging $69 instead of the $50 advertised. The door was hard to open and close, the furniture had stains, and the bedding was old and uncomfortable. The ice machine was broken, and there was no staff available between 7 pm and 10 am. The hotel is falling apart, and I’d advise against staying here.

The common area was nice for families to gather, play games, and chat. However, the hotel feels like a ghost ship: the front desk closes in the evening with a physical barrier, leaving guests on their own with no staff or services. Ice machines and the arcade change machine were broken, giving off a bad vibe.
