The owner was very friendly and, although the rooms looked small from the outside, they turned out to be really fine—comfortable, very clean, within walking distance to the waterfront and shops, and there was plenty of parking. No issues.

The shower was great, but the bed was a little hard, though it was still okay.

Everything matched the description, and I’d definitely choose it again if I visit Whakatane. Having the Comm Pub right next door was perfect.
