I was greeted in a dirty space by a person in a stained tracksuit, and the room had no real window—just a small hatch overlooking a cramped area littered with cigarette butts, giving off unpleasant smells. The carpet was heavily soiled, and I regretted booking; I would have left otherwise.

Cheap and cheerful lodging near Queens Park Rec Grounds and Hampden for gigs, but the key for our room wouldn’t open the main door after reception closed; luckily someone else arriving at the same time could unlock it.
