The homemade breakfast was the best I've had in Albania.
Parking right at the door, close to the bazaar and the castle, so the location is fantastic.
The people were super friendly and helpful—really warm.

“Geweldig en dat voor deze prijs!”
We arrived at 10.30 a.m. and were warmly welcomed by Mathilde and her mother. The room was clean, fresh and had a traditional touch, not new but very cozy. The extensive breakfast on the sunny terrace was delicious. The guesthouse is very close to all sights and the old town, and a brother of Mathilde took us to the station, sparing us from walking our luggage over the smooth stones of those steep roads.

This place was more than just accommodation—it was an experience. The guesthouse is beautiful, the rooms are clean and very nicely furnished, and it sits in the heart of the Old Town—just a three‑minute walk from the bazaar—with views of the town centre and the castle. A lovely terrace full of flowers is available, and the hosts were incredibly kind; the landlady prepared an excellent breakfast served right on the terrace, with fresh doughnuts that were especially amazing.

We stayed in the family room upstairs, which was spacious, comfortable and perfect for us. The guest house sits just a 5‑minute stroll from the Old Bazaar, and the hospitality was incredible—Matilde and especially her lovely mother were so sweet, kind and accommodating that we felt less like guests and more like we had come to stay with family. They made us feel genuinely welcome and completely at home, so we would absolutely recommend this guest house to anyone visiting Gjirokastër. A lovely place with even lovelier hosts!
