“Wonderful!!!”

We loved everything about our stay at Nipponia. The food was exceptional, the staff were warm and friendly (even though they spoke little English) and the facilities were beautiful and authentic—an incredible experience that made us feel welcome in every way. The traditional breakfast is prepared and presented so thoughtfully that we looked forward to it each morning. The soy sauce education and its addition to dishes really helped us appreciate the effort and taste of soy. We would definitely recommend it. If you take a taxi into town, it’s hard to get back to the hotel; we walked 30 minutes to return home after an early dinner, so an evening shuttle service to and from town would be nice for foreigners. Tawaramoto is a rural town but has everything you need. The little Art Cafe next to the station was delightful and their cheesecake was exceptional.

Every staff member was caring, warm, and genuinely wanted our stay to be the best it could be. They were all proud of the hotel and what it represented. The guided tour of the soy‑making history by the 18th‑generation owner was exceptional, and the soy was woven into the meals, which were sublime. Nothing to complain about; it was an incredible experience.

Everything! The location is fabulous and the experience lets you escape the city and enjoy Japan’s tranquility. The exceptional service, soy‑tour experience, and surroundings were fantastic. Every detail was attended to, from farm‑to‑table fine dining to refined finishes and comfort.

We had an amazing time at this hotel, and it's all thanks to the incredible staff. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome, even though language was a bit of a barrier - they were always smiling and eager to help. The real highlight, though, was the tour of the nearby soy sauce factory - it was fascinating to see the passion and culture that goes into making this staple ingredient. And the best part? We got to squeeze our own soy sauce, which was a fun and unique experience.
