“Great place”

We had a wonderful stay! The host gave clear, detailed directions to find the property and check in, so everything ran smoothly. The keys were in a secure, code‑protected lockbox, and the host lives on the premises, making check‑in convenient. She was friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and any questions or issues were resolved quickly. The kitchen had everything we might need, though it’s best to check with the host about usage conditions if you plan to cook. We brought our own food and only needed to reheat it, so everything worked perfectly. The house has a unique, creative vibe, with beautiful paintings that make it feel like an art gallery. It’s a lovely, inspiring place to stay. The location is great, within walking distance of the city centre. The bathrooms and toilets are well equipped with towels, soap, and even slippers. Fresh bed linen, blankets, air conditioning, and a TV are also provided, making the stay comfortable and convenient. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely choose this place again if we return!

A good place to rest.

The owner is very nice and check‑in and check‑out went smoothly. The room was also nice and clean. Unfortunately, the shared bathroom wasn’t very clean (Ameisenstraße). You should also know that a lot of smoking happens in the apartment, so the whole house has a strong smoke odor. If you’re okay with that, the place isn’t bad, but for me that was the deciding factor in my rating.

“Great bedroom but...”

The bedroom was excellent – plenty of space to spread out, pack and repack. The décor was original and pretty, and the house was full of paintings that gave it a quirky feel. The pink colour of the house is really nice too. The air conditioning works extremely well, which is important because it can get very hot. I had a fridge and a shelf, which was great. The other facilities unfortunately did not meet expectations. The owners turned off the water at night. Imagine waking up and going to the toilet that doesn’t flush, and you can’t wash your hands or drink from the tap. I wasn’t warned about this. They said the pump was broken, but then immediately turned it on and everything worked normally again. One bathroom had a dirty shower and the shower handle couldn’t be attached to the wall, and there were no hooks for your towel. The other bathroom was a creatively enhanced toilet that worked and was clean enough. The listing sometimes says the kitchen is shared and sometimes just a refrigerator – note that it’s someone’s house, so if you want to cook you’ll pay €10 extra. The posting should make that explicit. There are signs in the rooms that quiet hours start at 22:00. The person who lives there was blasting loud music until after 23:00 and took a long time to turn it down after we had a brief friendly chat about it. Communication with the host: The host sent me a convoluted series of photos to get to the property and refused to give me a street address for the taxi, including any nearby street address that can reliably be put into Google Maps. Street addresses in Tirana are a nightmare but there are nearby addresses that function as a reference point. This lack of information led to my taxi driving the wrong way and then the driver getting aggressive at me. The host also did not reply in a timely manner on other matters.

“Goede locate, niet schoon”

The bed was nice and the location was very central. The host’s mother was also very friendly. There was a hole in the bedding, and the shower was a disaster: no curtain, no holder for the shower head, and the head itself was broken so water leaked from the top and bottom. Plus, long black hairs appeared in the supposedly “clean” towels.
