Nestled on the edge of Etosha National Park, Ongava Lodge features rock‑and‑thatch chalets with air‑conditioned suites, private balconies, and en‑suite showers. Panoramic waterhole views frame the thatched dining hall, where guests dine beneath stars, and the main lounge. An outdoor pool offers refreshment, while morning drives explore Etosha and afternoon safaris traverse the private Ongava Game Reserve.

I booked an all inclusive package and the service matched the expectations for a property at this price. I was pleasantly surprised by the two private safaris arranged during my stay, one in the afternoon and one in the morning with a knowledgeable ranger. We did a short bush walk that let me capture rhinos up close. I had no bad experiences; I was perfectly happy.

The staff were friendly, the location beautiful, and the waterhole and hide are great draws for wildlife. The quality elements do not justify the very significant premium they charge compared to other similar properties, and breakfast was not up to standard.

A private game reserve with boutique character and a huge area for safari tours off the Etosha mainstream. The staff were very friendly and the food very good. Extremely expensive – not convincing enough for this price category. No nice swimming pool or pool area.
