“Zou weer dit adres kiezen”

As an older person I had a hard time with the small, poorly lit room lock. The owner drove to the apartment without any fuss (half an hour drive) and that deserves a shout‑out. The bathroom is large, the sink is sturdy, there's a comfortable sitting area, and a ceramic stove with dial knobs. Unfortunately there was no microwave, no oven mitts, no spatula, no shower curtain, too few towels, and a thin duvet. The surroundings of the apartment were somewhat run‑down, and in a small park near the gathering spot, loud young men were shouting.

“Okay, mit einem großen Aber.”

The location was okay, but the pre‑arrival communication didn’t work as the host usually does, and I didn’t get an important email in advance. I had to call to get the access codes after arrival. The temperatures inside were unbearable; even with all windows open, hardly any air came in, especially when it was below 30 °C outside, probably because of the small windows. The bed and couch emitted an unpleasant, musty smell, and the fan only moved air in the first 50 cm, then nothing. The bathroom under the slanted roof was a challenge for taller people, especially when showering, and the toilet was very high. The kitchen could use an upgrade, but it had appliances, dishes, and cutlery. A good service would have included a basic set of common spices, which were completely missing (or I was too stupid to find them). I ended my stay after one of the three planned nights.

The flat was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished; we’ll definitely be back next year. 🤗

The Wi‑Fi connection failed after several attempts even though I entered the correct password; otherwise everything was fine.
