Bishopstrow Hotel and Spa, a luxurious English country house in Wiltshire, features a serene spa with indoor and outdoor pools, Rasul mud therapy, and Elemis treatments. Elegant bedrooms, peaceful gardens leading to a river, and tennis courts are offered. Located between Salisbury and Bath, it's 10 minutes from Longleat House and Safari Park, serving locally crafted dishes in its restaurant.

The external spa facilities exceeded my expectations and the main building was finished to a very high standard, aside from the ongoing renovation. The grounds were fantastic, though some of the room’s furniture looked a bit worn and the light over the bed was harsh and direct; an extra side table would have helped.

I loved the hot‑tub room and the dinner was excellent, with the spa garden standing out as the highlight. However, the spa treatments were mediocre, breakfast was average, and the bathroom had a sheer blind that let people in the spa see part of it after dark; the hot‑tub patio could be more private, as we saw others walking around.

Facility, amenities and food choices and quality also staff attentiveness. Nothing to report

The outdoor spa was great.

The hotel was beautiful with lively rooms, the food excellent, and the spa facilities the best I’ve seen—an attractive landscaped garden with a pool, sauna, and several hot tubs that felt truly serene. Service was slow when we ordered drinks on the terrace upon arrival and at dinner; the staff seemed untrained for a hotel of this calibre, so we had to chase them for simple orders. Reception and breakfast staff were professional and excellent.
