“Although other hotels were fancier on the outside the Prospector's Inn was simply awesome.”
We had our own fully equipped kitchen with dishes and utensils, free Wi‑Fi, TV channels, a coffee maker, microwave, and toaster. The shower was great and parking was ample, close to the highway and shopping. The place was very quiet and accessible. The office staff were knowledgeable and readily available by phone, though I didn’t need help. Although there are fancier hotels and motels nearby offering continental breakfasts, this place had separate bedrooms that are more expensive and not always available elsewhere. We shopped around carefully before choosing this one and were surprised by the large suite‑size accommodation; we felt secure in the unit with no direct outside access like most motels. It was fully modern, comfortable, and although not originally a hotel, the conversion was admirable and affordable for our needs. I travelled with my daughter, so it definitely met all our needs. The downside was a few dips at the roadway entrance and potholes in the parking lot; having lived there most of my life, I expected this with the frost and climate variations. The whole town has roadwork needs every spring that never seem to get finished. It’s a work in progress and expensive. There’s an interesting miners’ memorial nearby and a museum. As a thriving gold‑mining town it has a lot to offer.
