It was handy for where I needed to go and only one stop away from the city centre by train, but the area has a reputation for not being especially safe, though I had no problems myself.

The room stayed generally clean and towels were supplied; the check‑in and check‑out went smoothly, and a kettle with mugs, coffee, and two water bottles were provided – small touches that are always appreciated. The shower felt a bit fiddly, the railway track outside the window could get noisy, as could the compressor in the mini‑fridge, and an alarm sounded at midnight and again at 5am.

The room was simple and small, but the bed was reasonably comfortable, the place stayed clean, and the en‑suite shower was easy to access via a key safe. The shower itself was very small and hard to locate – a bigger “40” sign and maybe an arrow at the end corner of the street would help.

The location was good, but overall it was just fine.
