It's a 5-minute walk from Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, 1.6 km from Historic Quay and Marina, and 1 km from Hartlepool United Football Club. Rooms feature flat-screen TVs, tea/coffee making facilities, and en-suite bathrooms with hairdryers. On-street and adjacent car parks offer free parking after 18:00.

The place was clean and the staff were fine. I asked for extra tea and milk, no problem, and received a complimentary upgrade from single to double. I love that everything is within easy reach; even at my age it’s only a 12‑minute walk to the train station, Asda, and 5 minutes to the Middleton Grange shopping centre. If you’re of a certain age, the top of the house is a bit of a stretch after a few drinks.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but this hotel’s low price and poor reviews meant I expected little. The room’s cleanliness was far below any reasonable standard, with a serious bedbug infestation and stained bedding and towels. Windows and walls had streaks, and there appeared to be cigarette burns on the furniture. I reported the bedbugs to staff, hoping they would take action.

The room was clean and I was upgraded to a quieter area, which I loved. The owner/manager did everything possible, but the TV was a challenge.

Everything costs £75 for one night, which feels steep. The table and outlets had no hot water, and the room smelled like weed. The room was tiny, with mold in the shower. I tried twice to get a refund and received the same response each time, still no refund. I walked in, stayed about 20 minutes, then walked back out.
