The onsen was great, the room was spacious, the public areas were nicely decorated with artwork, and the garden was lovely, though the metal doors felt odd.

I was really pleased with the food, but the large public bath was a bit far from the hotel.

The lounge with a view of the sea and garden, as well as the rooms, were lovely. The staff were very kind, and they handled guest hand‑offs well; they even checked my dislike of certain ingredients during breakfast and confirmed it at dinner, showing great attention to detail. My companion said the bed mattress felt a bit thin, but I didn’t mind much because the floor was tatami.

The onsen was enjoyable, but it’s a shame you can’t swim or use the beach around it; the beach facilities are completely missing, and the town itself isn’t very pretty, though Ama is worth visiting.
