We never actually stayed at the hotel because there was a mix‑up with Batur Lake View; the owner sent me a WhatsApp asking what time we would arrive and also wanted our driver’s details for reasons I didn’t understand. When we finally got to Batur and realized the confusion between the two venues, we tried to reach him but he never responded. He was at a celebration and only sent a text two hours later.

The place was non‑existent. We went to the address listed and nothing was there; we found another address for it, went there, and it was still missing… I’m convinced this is a scam. The owner promised a refund but then stopped replying entirely, so I never got any money back.

The rooms had a nice view. We booked through Booking on the same day around 13:00 and arrived at 21:00 (check‑in allowed until 22:00). No one was waiting for us and no one had seen our reservation. Moreover the place was fully booked. Contacting the owner on WhatsApp was difficult; we were sent to a different, lower‑quality property. The room was dirty, all bedding was still in the laundry so we had to wait until the next morning for new sheets (still stained), towels, and, inexplicably, toilet paper. Breakfast was scheduled for 08:00 but didn’t arrive until 10:00. The staff were friendly but clearly unprepared and unprofessional. We are usually very accommodating guests, but we didn’t stay long.
