The bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly, and the airport transfer worked well. However, the room is small even for a superior rate, so you can’t really rest; two small mosques were holding prayers late at night and there was a speaker next to the room.

Breakfasts were decent but the selection was very limited. The photos make the hotel look more attractive, yet in reality there is almost no lobby, the stairways are terribly narrow, and the elevator is almost never available.

The staff were great and the rooms were clean. They handled the airport pickup and drop‑off, escorted us to the seaplane, helped us get tickets, and let us into the lounge—very helpful. Nothing to complain about.

I arrived in Malé late at night and used the hotel as a pre‑resort stop because the shuttle service and the fresh, clean décor convinced me. After booking I quickly got a reply confirming the airport‑to‑hotel pick‑up time, which gave me peace of mind before even arriving. The next morning I let Samman Grand Hotel know my tentative speed‑boat departure, and when the actual time turned out earlier, they accommodated the change. The paper given at check‑in listed all the timings clearly, which was helpful despite my limited English. The welcome drink and hand‑towel service felt very hospitable. The room was a bit larger than a typical business hotel, more than enough for a night before the resort, and the shower was spotless. The toilet was tucked in the corner of the shower area, a little inconvenient but fine for a pre‑resort stay. A small balcony offered views of a nearby mosque, the sea and the airport. Breakfast on the 10th floor featured thick guava juice and tasty curry, and the 11th‑floor rooftop terrace was nice. A mosque right next to the hotel broadcasts the call to prayer early in the morning; I wasn’t bothered and earplugs were provided. A 24‑hour supermarket nearby made buying snacks for the resort easy.
