The Hua Du offered an excellent location for seeing Keelung. It is a little dated and the beds are very firm to hard, but it was clean, friendly, included breakfast and reasonably priced. Most westerners are looking for a nice soft mattress when traveling. After reading reviews from several hotels in the Keelung area that the beds were uncomfortable I expected it

The location is great, right next to a night market and not far from Jiulong Miao Kou Night Market, which is quite lively; the mattress is decent—not too soft, the air‑conditioner is cool enough, and breakfast is acceptable. If you’re driving, you’ll have to park at a nearby parking lot.
