It was a great retreat: quiet, well equipped, and immaculate, exactly as described in the listing. The listing actually understated how good it is. The kitchen is beautifully equipped and there are many homely touches in the living and sleeping areas. We visited in mid‑December and would love to return in summer to enjoy the outdoor space as well. The beach is a two‑minute slow walk away. The local approach road is easy to miss from the main road and is very seriously potholed; the recent storm, as indicated by the red weather warning, has likely worsened the problem. A tractor would have been ideal to get down the lane!

The house has a lot of charm and is very close to the beach. Check‑in was straightforward and the owners responded quickly to questions. If we had stayed longer, we would have liked to use the outdoor area more. The garden terrace offers plenty of space and many cushions and blankets are available to make it even cozier.

The spot was spot on for us, right where we needed to be. The house itself was a nice standard, though it’s now cladded and no longer green. Everything we required for the weekend was there, thanks. A mud‑free path or stepping stones would have been ideal, since it rained hard and we were worried about tracking mud inside.
