Torine House B&B

We stayed in this apartment for two days, but unfortunately the experience was very disappointing and did not meet expectations; although the accommodation may look pleasant from the outside, the interiors were dirty and had several maintenance and equipment deficiencies. The attached photos document some of the issues we encountered during our stay, including: • plates with obvious burn marks; • crushed insects on the bedroom curtains; • a dish sponge that was worn out and full of hair; • dirty cutlery; • dishes that were poorly cleaned, old, and partially unusable for cooking; • chipped glasses; • kitchen products such as oil left open and nearly finished. Additionally, the apartment was cold, the heating was not working, the Wi‑Fi was non‑functional, and there was no coffee available. Even though we had chosen a place with a kitchen, the host strongly advised us to dine out, which was inconsistent with the type of accommodation and the advertised services. The attached images were taken during the stay and are intended to provide concrete evidence of the conditions described. I hope the owner will pay more attention to cleaning, maintenance, and replacing damaged or unusable equipment. Overall, I do not recommend this apartment and would not stay there again.

“It would have made a huge difference if this B&B treated their guests with kindness and respect. It also was confus”

The location was quiet and just a 15‑minute walk to town, but I arrived after climbing a long hill with all my luggage and knocked on the door, only to be met by an angry woman speaking to me from a window. I had mistakenly arrived a day early for an expensive booking at her Torine House B&B for six nights, but she offered no assistance or alternative accommodation for the night, nor did she let me shelter from the rain while I searched for a place. She treated me as an intruder and showed no concern for my well‑being, forcing me to stand in the rain on her driveway while I called a taxi back to town. I eventually stayed the six nights I had booked, but it was very uncomfortable: there was no communication, no breakfast (the B&B supposedly stands for bed and breakfast), no towel replacement in the shared bathroom, no cleaning, and I only found information in old papers in the bedroom closet. It was a very unfriendly place, and I did my best to make the stay as pleasant as possible on my own and avoid being treated badly by her again.

“Great apartment and garden”

The apartment offered a lovely breakfast for the apartment and a separate room with dry cereal, teas, and coffees; the apartment itself was charming, a great space for a longer stay even though we only stayed one night. The location was ideal, a short walk to town, and the garden area was lovely—a great little spot to stop on a road trip in western Ireland. The Wi‑Fi didn’t work in the bedroom of the apartment, but that was not a major issue; it worked fine in the other areas. The individual room was a bit noisy in the morning as people were checking out, especially those nearest the common space/kitchen.
