The breakfast bar was well stocked and comfortable, but the TV had no free‑to‑air connection for 2 of the 3 nights we stayed.

Not much to say positively. Reception was less than welcoming. We were lucky to get a “renovated” room, but it was poorly cleaned: the bed had to be moved to reach a power point, the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed in a long time, the TV remote was dirty and greasy, the bench tops were gritty, and the sinks were both stained and dirty.

I didn’t enjoy it at all. Our problems started before we even arrived: we called the motel at 4.40 pm from Bathurst to let them know we were coming, but the person who answered barely understood English, which foreshadowed what was to come. The room was smaller than a standard jail cell, dirty, and smelled of moths, with mold in the bathroom. The TV didn’t work; as an AV tech I tried to fix it but the issue seemed to be with the broadcast signal distribution throughout the motel, not the TV itself. The bedding was old and not fresh, so we chose to sleep on the floor instead of the bed. When we tried to get staff to address these issues, there was no one to help. We left early the next day.
