Located in Halifax's business and entertainment district, The Hollis Halifax - a DoubleTree Suites by Hilton, offers stunning harbour views and all-suite accommodations within a 5-minute walk of the historic waterfront, fine restaurants, museums, and shops. The hotel features an indoor pool, hot tub, fitness centre, and on-site dining options, including a breakfast buffet and Ryan Duffy's Restaurant, with room service available.

The hotel is convenient for the convention centre and downtown attractions, but the HVAC system disappoints every time; the heating in my room failed again, so they handed me a tiny space heater that was far too small and noisy, and the breakfast service was slow and mediocre.

The place has a good location and decent breakfast choices, but the walk uphill around the area is tough.

The location is good and the front desk staff are great, but the building feels like it hasn’t been renovated in ages, the rooms look dated and worn, and there are very few comfortable common areas in the lobby where guests can relax. Overall, the hotel seemed expensive for what was offered.

The hotel is super fresh, with a large, comfortable room that includes a sofa, a kitchen area, and two cozy beds; I liked that the reception was quick to respond, and the warm chocolate at check‑in was a nice bonus. It was a bit unclear whether breakfast was included, and in our case it wasn’t, but the staff clarified the situation nicely.

The central location is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The accessibility king‑size suite is huge, with a large bedroom, a separate lounge, and a breakfast bar area. The room feels a bit soulless, like many big chains; there are no modest curtains in either room even though you’re right across the street from apartments and offices. No crockery or silverware is provided for the kitchenette, though the staff supplied them when asked. The pool area looks tired, with flaking paint on the ceiling, broken tiles around the hot tub, and towels not restocked early in the morning.
