“Excellent Gateway Stay for Ubud and Northern Bali Attractions!”
We spent most of our Bali stay here as a gateway out of Ubud to the many attractions. I worried about traffic near Ubud centre, but it was manageable and several sights were within 45 minutes. The hotel sits just 300 m off the main road, secluded, quiet, and surrounded by jungle, giving a unique experience with frogs and geckos. The entrance features a pond with Koy fish and frogs that sometimes cross your path. Rooms are spacious, with comfy beds and modern bathrooms that have both a shower and a bath. The staff were sweet, friendly, and super helpful from the moment we arrived, assisting with luggage, breakfast, and even in‑house dinner after long days. Rooms were cleaned daily on request, and we received four bottles of drinking water each day. Breakfast was abundant and varied, with fresh fruit, Balinese black coffee, banana smoothie, and a choice between Indonesian, Continental, American, or Healthy menus – all delicious, especially the pancakes that looked as good as they tasted. Food and drinks at the hotel were affordable, and we used the service once after a tiring day; it was good. The infinity pool overlooking the jungle was lovely, perfect for relaxing an hour after exploring. Just 300 m away is the excellent restaurant “Kalos Bali” with a varied menu, live entertainment, a good grocery shop, and the excellent laundry service Kusuma Wash Premium Service. It was a memorable stay, and I’ll miss the jungle sounds and vegetation. The only disappointment was that the bedroom walls were highly scratched and/or dirty in both booked rooms – better attention is needed there.
