“This Did Not Feel Like a Marriott Property”
We booked a Junior Suite but found the room in poor condition, with cockroaches in both the bedroom and bathroom and yellow, unclean sheets and towels. Breakfast was lackluster; the selection was limited and I mostly ate fruit and eggs, which was fine, but the Indonesian food could have been better. Complimentary unfiltered coffee was only offered on the first day; when I asked for black coffee from the espresso machine, I was told to pay. I don’t mind paying for extras, but basic coffee should be part of breakfast. Our room was directly under the breakfast/lounge area, so every morning we were woken by people dragging chairs and tables, especially at night when staff prepared breakfast. There seemed to be no consideration for guests below. The biggest issue was the seafood all‑you‑can‑eat dinner, which caused both of us severe diarrhea. When we asked if the hotel had received similar complaints, we received no clear answer, only an offer to speak with the chef. With cockroaches, questionable cleanliness, excessive noise, poor breakfast, and a concerning food experience, this was far below what I expect from a Marriott. Management seriously needs to review its housekeeping, F&B, and guest‑service standards.
