Hillhouse Accommodation

The central spot was lovely, the beds super comfy and the showers great; the kitchen had everything we needed, from crockery to utensils. We enjoyed lighting the indoor fire at night while chatting, and the proximity to Piggly Wiggly plus other attractions and eateries was convenient. We happened to be there during the Royal Show, which was just down the road. Walking around the property was fantastic and the views were breathtaking. We spotted a hare while relaxing outside overlooking Midmar Dam, and later a Duiker on our way to the house on Saturday afternoon; a few monkeys were around, but not the common grey ones. The place was peaceful and relaxing—just take the dirt road slowly to avoid any issues.

“Beautifully decorated farmhouse near Midmar, nice but noisy.”

The open space was lovely and large, close to Midmar Dam, and the decor was beautiful and comfortable. The plumbing pressure was weak, and only one tap could work at a time even though there were several bathrooms. The house was noisy with only partitions between rooms and no walls, offering very little privacy. There was no hairdryer.

The building’s architecture is unique and surrounded by nature, but the shower heads need updating; they save water yet make showering unenjoyable.

The location of this hotel is seriously impressive – right in the heart of the action. It's a real bonus to be so close to the main attractions. Unfortunately, the noise from the street can be a bit of a nuisance, especially if you're a light sleeper. Still, it's a small price to pay for the convenience.

“We where at hillhouse for a weekend stay, lots of us staying and still more than enough space”

This place was perfect for our group - the location was amazing and the space was huge. We had everything we needed and more, and the area was just a short walk from all the main attractions.
