“Al bij al een aangenaam verblijf met een gastvrije gastvrouw”

We had a great stay! The accommodation consists of two newly renovated rooms, neat and comfortable. The stay is about an hour’s drive from the well‑known hikes nearby, which was perfect for us. Both days we left early for our hikes, but the host didn’t mind preparing a breakfast especially early for us. The breakfast was basic but included fresh, local products. We could also park our car for free, which was very convenient. What was less good for us was the reception. When we arrived there was no one present. We saw an older woman, the grandmother, leaving, but she only spoke German. Eventually we were greeted about an hour later, but communication was somewhat difficult, even with the host who spoke slightly better English. The accommodation is quite remote and there is hardly anything nearby. There is one restaurant close by, but for other amenities you have to drive a bit farther. The place also had a somewhat musty smell, which is partly due to staying in a wooden chalet, but it still caught our attention. When we arrived there was also no toilet paper. Overall, we found the value for money a bit high.

The facilities are well maintained, clean, and the staff are welcoming and helpful; we had a great stay and nothing to complain about.
