“A disappointing and overpriced stay marked by a canceled reservation, poor handling by staff, additional unexpected char”
We were really let down at Viceroy Hotel Kopaonik. We had paid in full, then a week before we upgraded to a room with two separate beds and were asked for an extra €30, the only extra cost. The same day our reservation got cancelled, but both the travel site and the hotel assured us everything was fine and we could just show up. When we arrived, we were told there was no room left. The front desk didn’t help much; instead of a fix they told us to book a new room at a higher price. The hotel’s own rate was already higher, so we ended up booking a same‑day room that cost more than our original booking. After a long trip with few options, we had no choice. Only after asking twice did we get a free drink. On top of that, one elevator was broken, the spa pool water wasn’t warm, the room had low hot water, parking wasn’t included, ski storage cost extra, and the breakfast staff were rude, yanked me from the first table and forced me to sit at an unfinished table with no cutlery or napkins, so I had to grab those from other tables. Overall, the hotel feels overpriced for the service and experience. For a supposedly high‑end place we expected better organization and care. The only bright spot was the bar, especially Sofia who was kind and understanding.
