The ryokan is a 15-minute walk from Hakone Botanical Garden of Wetlands and 1.2 km from Hakone Lalique Museum. Highly rated for excellent dinner and attentive staff, it provides mountain views, free toiletries, and breakfast.

The rooms were stunning, and the private onsen offered a lovely view; breakfast and dinner were amazing, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. We loved everything, though the futon beds felt firmer than we were used to, which was part of the experience.

The dinner and breakfast were excellent, but the apartment was advertised for four adults and that was not the case; there was only a bed for two and the other two had to lay mattresses on the floor. Check‑out is at 10:00 and check‑in at 15:00, which is too long; we arrived at 14:30 and had to wait until 15:00. The floors are very slippery with the provided flip‑flops. The private bath is outdoors but not what we expected, and it does not appear in the photos.

We had booked one room for two people, but ended up with two rooms for two people, which was very unpleasant. We should have checked this detail when booking on the website. Because of this, we were charged for a room we didn't use and are demanding a refund.
