“Disappointing and poor customer service”
The location was convenient for our needs, and the housekeeping staff were friendly and polite. The bed was comfortable enough. However, when we arrived, we discovered that our room had been mistakenly assigned to another guest in our party, so we had to swap rooms, which set a bad tone. The worst part was the dinner: the menu was confusing, and my mum ordered a burger because the layout suggested three separate options; when it arrived, it was drenched in burger sauce, which she is allergic to. I immediately informed a staff member, who said the kitchen would remake it but we would be charged for both burgers. I argued that this was unfair since the menu didn’t show the sauce in the area my mum pointed to. The same staff member returned and insisted that “the manager has said it is stated on the menu. You never stated you had an allergy so you will have to pay for both burgers.” No one asked if anyone had allergies, and the manager never came to speak to us, which was telling. We paid £36 for one burger! The treatment and customer service were disgusting and left a sour taste for the rest of the stay. The room was scorching during the day and freezing at night; the walls were thin and the road noise was awful, so don’t expect peaceful sleep. The room looked a bit dirty—there was a stuffed dog on the bed with an ear missing so stuffing fell out, plus stains on the floor. The bathroom stank, the sealant around the bath wasn’t even touching it, and the shower looked like it was held together by layers of sealant. The fan was full of fluff. Most staff seemed a bit rude and uninterested. It was expensive, and the outside area was pitch black and creepy at night. Personally, I would not stay here alone.
