It was empty, which was fine, but there were no outlets in the bathroom, making it hard to use the hair dryer. The room felt cheap for its price, there was no vending machine for alcohol, no ice, and the view was awful.

Breakfast was good, but the hotel didn’t acknowledge that I had booked breakfast and dinner, so I was treated as a simple room‑only guest. When I drove out, I had to set up a color cone myself to reserve my parking spot; they never told me that I’d need to do that, so I couldn’t secure parking when I returned.

It’s close to Kurashiki Park, but on a rainy, slightly chilly day the room was set at 22 °C and felt freezing, plus the air‑conditioner couldn’t be turned off! I only realized later that adjusting the temperature setting and fan speed would have helped.

The location is far from all tourist spots and conveniences, so you’ll need to rent a car or be ready to walk a lot.

The hotel is just a 2.3‑minute walk from the north entrance of Ritsurin Park, making it perfect for a morning stroll, and from the room’s window I could clearly see Mt. Shiun, the park’s backdrop. The fireworks from the Takamatsu Festival were visible from the fifth‑floor window. The building is old, so noises traveled through the corridors and other areas.
