The Cock Inn Hotel, a family‑run public house in Sheering, offers 12 en‑suite rooms and a warm, relaxed bar. Located less than a mile from the M11 and 1.5 miles from Sawbridgeworth station, it provides easy 40‑minute rail access to London and Cambridge. The on‑site restaurant serves homemade traditional pub meals, while breakfast runs Tuesday‑Friday 7‑8:30 am and weekends 9‑10 am.

The inn was a great stopover for anyone heading north from Dover, with convenient parking right in the village. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our first dinner at the restaurant featured a delicious lemon sole, and the portions were generous. The room was decent, though a bit dated, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast offered a good mix of cereals and hot dishes. The only drawback was the bathroom, which felt tired and the shower temperature was hard to control.

The bed was terrible, but the mattress was comfortable. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. I definitely experienced this before; it just came back to mind.

The room was lovely, the facilities excellent, and everything was spotless. The staff were brilliant, and the value for money was outstanding. Breakfast was good, and every aspect of my stay was exceptional—nothing could be better!
