We turned up around 1:30 pm and there was nobody at the desk to meet us. I ended up dialing a number just to find out which cabin we’d been assigned, and everything – the pool, the restaurant – was shut down. No tea or coffee packets in the room either, so the whole vibe felt more like a closed‑down building than a resort.

Tina was on hand for everything, making sure we never ran into a problem. The golf course is right next door and you can play for free while you’re staying, plus the beach is just a short walk away and the wildlife around the site is impressive. The van park is tidy, the cabin fits six and has a compact but well‑stocked kitchen, and even though the shower was a bit tiny it didn’t bother us. We spent Christmas there and the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant.

The property feels really old and there isn’t much that stands out as a plus – it’s basically a dated building with few amenities.

The spot is fantastic for wildlife spotting and the location is hard to beat, but the bedroom ceiling fan is a nightmare – it’s noisy and a pain to adjust. The bunk beds are too short for adults, the couch is uncomfortable whether you sit or try to sleep on it, and there are no decent chairs to relax in. Overall, great setting but the furnishings need work.
