Lovely grounds, friendly staff, ample parking, good location. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Poor lighting in bathroom. Poor ventilation in room, scungy breakfast (not much choice and small serving of cooked breakfast), dinner was overpriced

The lake was beautiful and you could see money had been spent in this area. Breakfast was good and the service excellent. The double room was sparsely furnished with dated furniture. The bed was hard to sleep in. The view was of the car park and noise from the M25 (the other side of the car park was noisy). The room was always hot despite a ceiling fan most of the time. The room had the smallest TV we had. The large room had the smallest wall‑mounted TV. The room we stayed in needs upgrading soon. The lakeside rooms’ view was good. So, you pay for what you get.

Nice views. Food ok. Bar area and restaurant ok. Dirty foor in bathroo behind door. Really needs a refurbishment. Dated decor and furniture throughout. Orange pine furniure and soul-less bedroom. Peach and cream enamel bath? Peach bathroom suite? Chipped around taps and seen better days 40 years ago. Great setting ruined by poor housekeeping and lack of investment

The breakfast, car parking and location were all solid, but the pillows were thin and basic; we had to request a third one on top of the two we had, and it still fell short. The bathroom was a bit shabby, with a black slip mat underneath, and the place could use a little TLC.
