The location was bad, the house was very damp, and the hospitality was very minimal.

The apartment was in a quiet area, clean, and perfect for a couple with two kids, or even for two couples if they combine beds in one room; if I return to São Miguel I’ll definitely book this place again if it’s available. We did miss some kitchen tools like a grill (even for the stove), wooden spoon(s), and overall we found the cookware sparse. We chose the apartment because a family member needs special dietary care regarding gluten and lactose, so we bought a few utensils ourselves. Other than that it was very good.

Sandra’s place is well located near Ponta Delgada and the airport, yet it’s in a very quiet zone with a supermarket and gas station close by. Parking on the street is hassle‑free. The house has everything you need and the bed is very comfortable; we were very pleased. The only downside was that the dining room light was a bit flickery, otherwise everything was fine.

Everything I needed was there, and the coffee capsules for the machine were a nice touch – I even thought about buying a sample. The house was, however, extremely noisy; on Saturday the apartment across the hall blasted loud music, and the village festival went on until 3 am.
