“Authentic srilanka”
I was impressed by how attentive the host was, taking us to the local natural bathing pool and whipping up some delicious food – it felt like an authentic experience.

The room was beautiful with great views, and the hosts were very helpful and welcoming. Its location near the train station kept us far from Ella’s chaos. The home‑cooked food was absolutely delicious, and we’d definitely stay again. Leo, the family’s adorable puppy, earned bonus points. The only downside was the low water pressure at the end of our stay, which is understandable for the season.

We spent three nights here and everything was great. The hosts were super nice and tried to fulfill every request. The food was lovely, with big, filling portions. The villa sits about 20 minutes from Ella in a remote area, which we loved for escaping the busy city and enjoying nature. The rooms were super clean, spacious, and comfortable. There was nothing to complain about 😊

Everything was absolutely perfect. The location offered fantastic scenery and amazing nature, with many bird species, monkeys, mongooses, palm squirrels, and buffalo in the paddy fields. We ate breakfast and most evening meals at the villa, using seasonally local produce that was always delicious. The upper balcony table offered a beautiful view. The room and villa were wonderful, and a TV was bought just before our arrival so we could watch the FIFA World Cup. Our host and his family made everything trouble‑free. We took the morning train to Ella after breakfast on many days—just a two‑minute walk to a lovely little train platform that crossed the 9‑arch bridge, a fantastic start to the day. Sometimes we returned by train, other times by bus or tuk‑tuk, all fun experiences. The property has superb walks with gentle gradients, including two special routes up through tea plantations with unbelievable views. On other days we caught a bus to Badulla after walking across a small bridge over a stunning rock‑filled river to the stop; we were shown the best spot to access and bathe there. Badulla has a very important serene Buddhist temple, and the town was great for clothes shopping. We also visited an amazing Buddhist temple overlooking Ella with the owner, who turned out to be a great guide and took us to many places, including a local waterfall few visitors see. Ella itself was fabulous, just as we had hoped. Another special find was the local Ayurvedic village doctor’s practice, a one‑minute walk behind the property. I can’t think of anything else to write 🤔

The hosts were amazing and friendly, and the meals were delicious. It’s a bit tricky to find because the name is similar to other places, but once you get there you won’t be disappointed.
