“Würde dort wieder übernachten”
Good breakfast, free parking, a small park outside to sit— we were very satisfied. The entire house is tastefully furnished with antique furniture. There is no elevator and the small room is really small.
The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. The location is close to many natural sights like Geiranger and Trollstigen, yet it sits in a quiet spot by a fjord. The furniture and interior are very special, but the windows are a bit hard to open and close.

The old‑style décor was nice, the room cozy, the bathroom good, the bed comfortable (except the pillows), and the breakfast was great. The staff spoke only English, the Wi‑Fi wouldn’t let us log in, there was a lot of sound from the room—about what the neighbors were saying through the wall and something seeming to come through the floor above us—so earplugs were recommended. The pillows in the bed should be replaced; options were either a very large/ tall pillow or a thin one, and I ended up with a sore neck.

The hotel was very nicely renovated, furnished, and clean, the breakfast was very tasty, there was free parking right in front of the hotel, and the staff were very friendly; the bed was cozy and the shared bath was also very clean. Right outside the hotel there are great seating and lying options on the fjord. Driving takes about 45 minutes to Geiranger (using a ferry that costs about 140 NOK per direction). The only drawback is that the accommodation itself can’t do anything about it, but we would have liked to know beforehand that in Valldal and the surrounding area there is almost no dining—just one food truck and two poorly rated restaurants—and the next restaurants are more than an hour’s drive away, which made dinner a bit complicated.
