I stayed in a cozy little house that felt quite comfortable, but the stairs up to the upper floor where the bedroom is a real nightmare—extremely steep and dangerous. If you’re paying around €250 a night, you don’t expect to have to strip the bedding yourself like in a youth hostel. The shower entrance is so narrow it only works for very slim people, and opening the windows requires brute force because the wood is old and all the windows are warped and barely open.

It was gorgeous, stylishly decorated, fully equipped, super comfy, cozy, and worth every penny; the owner clearly upholds high standards and an eye for detail, and we hope we left it as we found it—my wife’s birthday will always remember this place.

The room was lovingly and tastefully furnished, but when we arrived in rain and storm, two windows were completely open, so it was very cold.

The little house in the quiet village of Bolungarvik was exceptionally cozy and well maintained; we enjoyed cooking in the fully equipped kitchen, relaxing in the comfortable living room, and sleeping in the cozy room on the first floor, and it’s only 15 minutes from the busier Ísafjörður.
