“Lovely, would definitely stay again”
The place was beautiful and clean, and the staff were fantastic. I would have liked a hand towel and a shower mat to avoid stepping on water that spread through the room.

We were greeted warmly by the staff, who were professional and friendly, making us feel very welcome. The setting was lovely with amazing views, and the proximity to a good road made access easy for us. The beds were super comfortable and we slept well. The en‑suite was very spacious and clean. Breakfast had a limited selection, but what we had was delicious and well cooked, and our evening meal was very good too, with my husband enjoying their own range of craft ales. We stayed in the Hartcliffe Hill room, where the twin single beds were too large for the small space, leaving only about 9" at the side of one bed to get out, so I kept knocking myself on the radiator or the wall. It would have been far more sensible to put a 4'6" double bed in this room or even just one single bed instead. The furniture was very limited due to lack of space, and it would have been nice to have a chair in the room. Likewise, the en‑suite had very limited storage for toiletries and spare towels, so we ended up placing all our toiletries in bags on the floor, which was acceptable for just one night but not for any longer. I discovered that the bottom end of duvet and cover on the bed nearest the window were stained by previous guests; as I am partially sighted I did not notice for some time, but we did take photographs. Had I noticed sooner I would have asked for them to be changed. The housekeeping staff need to be more vigilant. The room looked out over the rear of the kitchen and fire escape, and it was very noisy from compressors constantly running and staff going out into this yard. We will definitely stay here again provided they can offer a larger, quieter room. In fairness, we did book at short notice so this was the only room available, and hopefully a better stay next time.

It was in a beautiful place with the most stunning view! The bed was so comfy we laid down once we checked in and both fell straight to sleep! Haven’t slept that well in forever!. Not a thing we didn’t like

Excellent location with lovely walks nearby, especially around the reservoirs, and very well situated for visiting Holmfirth and the Last of the Summer Wine locations. Staff were excellent and very attentive without exception. Our room was first class with a kitchen area, living/sleeping area and an en‑suite bathroom. Food, including breakfast, was very good, and it was very pet friendly. When the bar is not open, the doors on the ground floor are locked for security reasons and the only means of entry to the rooms on the first floor is by using a key to open the door at the top of the metal fire escape. This fire escape is of a fretwork nature which makes it unsuitable for dogs – they therefore have to be lifted up and down the fire escape. That’s a fairly difficult task for older guests and, frankly, a bit risky.

Cooked breakfast was lovely and the toast didn't have cereal as we liked. Didn't have any cereal that we like, i.e. cornflakes, rice crispies, weetabix, porridge.
