Anyone who loves nature would enjoy it; it’s very beautiful. The staff were very attentive and nice. Getting there is a bit tricky because the plane schedule doesn’t line up with the boat that takes you to the lodge from Drake's Bay, so we had to wait in town for about 3 hours, which we were expecting.

Location, view, atmosphere. Warm, humid nights, which is typical of Corcovado. But keep in mind there is no air conditioning.

We spotted tapirs every night and most mornings, which was definitely special. It was a bit odd that there was so little other wildlife during our stay, given that the Osa Peninsula is the most biodiverse area of Costa Rica and I usually see much more when I visit Corcovado. The tour guide was enthusiastic and really worked hard to locate birds on the morning walk and insects/reptiles on the night walk, but he needs to learn more about plant and insect ID because he used common names and seemed not to know what a taxonomic name was.

We initially got a room with a shared toilet and shower, which we hadn't booked. Fortunately, the issue was noticed and the next day we were moved to a house with its own toilet and WC. My partner had stomach issues the first night and we were advised not to eat at the restaurant as a precaution. In case of contagion, medical help would be hard to get quickly at that spot, which we found logical and understandable. In our house a beautiful spot was created for eating. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The surroundings are paradise-like, with ocean views, beautiful nature, lovely birds and other animals. Even if you have little energy you can still entertain yourself. The activities for people who cannot do a heavy 6 to 7 hour hike or who cannot snorkel or dive are limited. A 3-night stay is then enough. You can attend a morning and evening excursion. What I regretted was that we did not receive a response to our email asking whether a full or partial refund could be granted for not being able to participate in 2 excursions because my partner could not. In the rush of our departure I forgot to ask earlier and the management did not address it. The excursions are pricey.
