The only thing is the location, if you’re only walking! No parking if you’re traveling by rental car. Finding a parking spot is like a 6 in the lottery, otherwise you have to park several kilometers away and walk to the accommodation. The many stair steps to the rooms—without an elevator, carrying heavy luggage is a disaster. The room has no air conditioning; at 30 °C outside it feels like a sauna, and you can’t open the windows at night because it’s extremely loud. At 0 o’clock the garbage collection arrives, making noise and stink. The building is extremely sound‑proof; you hear the neighboring rooms and every step. The bathroom stinks, and the drains have a strong odor.

“Fijne locatie, communicatie en faciliteiten kunnen beter.”

The location is really great, right in the middle of town. From our window we could even see and hear the live musician on the square. The staff interaction was slow; messages weren’t answered until late. We asked about a mobile air‑con that was supposed to be in the room but wasn’t there, and no alternative was offered for the inconvenience we requested.

“Great accommodation in centre of Funchal”

Very central, just a short walk from the Cathedral, and the roof terrace offers stunning views over Funchal and beyond. The bed and room were comfortable overall, and cafés, shops, and a lovely pedestrianised area are right at the doorstep. The coffee machine only had one capsule; a kettle would have been better. In room 6 the shower started to smell like drains because the water didn’t clear well during use. The stairs are very steep, which isn’t ideal if you have mobility issues.

“Great value for money for the young”

The place is clean, spacious, and centrally located. However, it’s difficult for middle‑aged guests and older people to climb all the stairs, although it’s great for younger travelers.

The location is fantastic. The room is very spacious but has no furniture except a table, and there are no chairs. It would be nice to have at least a place to sit. The bedside lamp is uncomfortable.
