“For one night not more”

The view was fantastic, even though the room felt a bit old and the wood wasn’t that clean. The bathroom wasn’t clean either; I’d only stay one night, not more. The staff were kind to us.

The hotel isn’t where it’s listed. There are no keys for the room. They’re not helpful.

The accommodation isn’t maintained, it’s very dirty and looks even abandoned and neglected. Dead animals in the room and birds living inside, the room full of droppings. Moldy pillows and dirty sheets with animal feces. Slugs in the bathroom, dead insects on the floor, a grasshopper carcass and lots of droppings on the floor. It’s clear the facilities aren’t maintained. The reservation we made was for a double room, but as soon as we arrived we were put into the first room they saw without any greeting. It had two beds instead of one double. There were no towels, no toilet paper, no amenities (the reservation included them). Only a boiler. No glasses, no coffee, no tea. We had to stay there because it was very late when we arrived and we had no other option. The staff didn’t speak any English. There was no lock or keys for any room and we had to sleep with the door open. The site staff said they were renovating everything. Indeed, there’s a building of modern white rooms being built to replace the cabins and they told us they were all complete. On Google, the new rooms are advertised with images at the same or even lower price, not the old cabins we stayed in. On Booking the photos are not updated because the white rooms aren’t built yet. A complete disaster. The room looked out onto a lake that was full of filth and not clean at all. The hotel left waste thrown at the door and there was no bin. Full of trash at the entrance and plastic waste in the garden. We didn’t sleep at all because of discomfort, dirt and the noise of birds or bats inside the room. I chose not to shower and leave dirty rather than shower there. I don’t understand how Booking can offer this place and be out of date on its real conditions. The place posted on the Booking map is

The hotel owners are very attentive. There are a lot of flies but the lakeside is the same everywhere.

“Super Lage und freundliches Personal”

The cottages are directly on Lake Batur. The view from here is almost prettier than from the crater rim. The rooms are simple, the bed is comfortable and big. The bathroom was accessible and usable for me as a wheelchair user. At request we were given a campfire in the evening – a very special experience!
