The place is in a great spot, the bed is super comfy, and the shower works wonders. Unfortunately, there’s no fridge or iron in the room, the temperature control fails, and the breakfast options are very limited.

The room was lovely with a view of a duck pond, the staff were friendly and helpful, the golf course was fun, and the pizzas in the pizzeria were delicious. The only downside was the continental breakfast: the menu promised a good selection of pastries, but it was just croissants, croissants, or croissants.

The facilities and staff were decent, but I expected more; the reception and leisure areas close at 8 pm are not very useful, and being hurried to drop off luggage so you can reach the restaurant for dinner made for a pretty poor check‑in.

The staff were incredibly friendly and supportive throughout, giving a warm welcome and creating a tranquil atmosphere—a perfect escape from city life that felt like a different part of the UK. The location is a bit removed from town life, making sightseeing a bit of a mission, but the staff still helped keep everything smooth.

Breakfast was good, but the fact that it was listed as included and turned out to be cooked breakfast that cost extra was frustrating, and the receptionist’s ambivalent response was annoying. Breakfast wasn’t really included and the website wasn’t clear. Rooms near the car park/entrance to the spa were noisy from about 7 am, the bath outside was dirty and uninviting, and golfers walking past the patio doors at the back were about 6 ft away while I was doing my makeup in my underwear.
