The view was the only good thing .that the only reason i gave any rating!. I looked at the price thinking . this must be good.right??? .a cabin for 900k per night up in the mountains . you'd think !!! . BUT . NOT so much!!! At first sight you run into a Hillbillies homestead after a tornado, plastic drums, old furniture everything stored for future use in plain sight, you know what I'm talking about!. The last round of upkeep was done during the Regan administration. Thatch with gapping holes and dilapidating infrastructure. The place is built up with what was found laying around or bought on the cheap, with some of the construction being seriously questionable, the one terrace was bouncing so badly just under my weight the wife asked me to stop bouncing my leg! There is no living room . its 1 room.Tiled / marble floor . huh??? Wardrobe .aaahhh .you mean the wooden stick in the corner of the room. Located on the ground floor ??? are you kidding me!!! besides the bazillion stairs to get to the cabin??? Breakfast is a real eye opener - you have a choice of either ramen noodles or ramen noodles. I threw my toys and ended up with 2 fried eggs and a dessert spoon ( choice cutlery) like a 4 year old! The unit itself is as basic as it comes ,,no tv .no fridge .an outhouse lined with plastic sheeting. a tin roof that the rats love to scurry across at 3am . a mattress on elevated floor with 1000 watt ''down lights'' right above your head blinding you every time you happen to gaze up from the bed! I gave up on staying at the Muong Thang hotel with a continental breakfast for this!!. the 5 star was cheaper! ( me knocking my head on a wall ) . Been living in Vietnam for 6 years now and do a bit of travelling . I know the standards and what is acceptable and have stayed in some rather spectacular places .this ain't one of them !!! If they got their act together and purchased 20 ton of elbow grease, they could turn it into something wonderful because of the location

The view and the restaurant quality were good, but the hotel was not suitable for an international clientele, was dilapidated, barely clean, had no breakfast even though it was included in the price, and didn’t accept credit cards even though it said it did on Booking.

The location is the main attraction, offering an extraordinary valley view that makes staying here worthwhile. We stayed in two huts, and the highest one gave the best view, so the climb was definitely worth it. It was nice that we got an upgrade. Note that the shower and toilet are outside the cabin, in a separate compartment accessed through the terrace, but that adds to the charm. The lodge’s landscaping is a big bonus, designed with great attention to the surrounding nature. A tip: the lodge next to the entrance can be a bit noisy, but in a rural area it’s not like you’re in the middle of Hanoi. The bar is nice, with plenty of drinks and a bartender who knows his juices and cocktails. Dinner there was good, not too expensive, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and cooperative. However, there are downsides. The staff were helpful but sometimes couldn’t understand certain needs. A cabin that can’t be locked wasn’t a big issue for them, but it was for us when we wanted to leave for sightseeing. Breakfast choices were limited to noodles, either beef or chicken; everything else was out of stock during our stay, indicating they didn’t want to make anything else but noodles. Also, coffee with breakfast was not free. One area the lodge could improve is cleaning up; there was a lot of garbage and junk around, which shouldn’t happen at an exolodge. They should do a cleanup and get rid of plastic bags, bottles, cans, etc., which now litter the place.
