“Beautiful hotel and room but pity cleanliness was an issue”

The buffet breakfast was excellent, the room was spacious and offered a mountain view, and we were lucky to see a very long fireworks display one night. The hotel lobby hall was grand and beautiful. However, the bed and pillows were smelly with body odor when we first checked in. Thankfully, the cleaning staff were helpful and swapped out the pillows and bed covers. The cushions and couch were also smelly and couldn’t be replaced. An oxygen machine and a humidifier were provided, but when we asked the staff to check the oxygen machine because it seemed to produce insufficient oxygen, the person who came was not very helpful and had a strong unwashed body odor, as if her uniform had been reused many days without washing.

“Comfortable, and centrally located.”

The location was solid and the rooms were comfortable, but the food didn’t live up to what a Shangrila hotel should offer in terms of variety and quality. The staff didn’t speak English, making it hard for many family members to communicate. A few staff members were helpful, yet others lacked initiative, so the overall service felt below the standard expected from a Shangrila hotel.

“Шикарный отель”

The hotel is a genuine five‑star experience with everything you could want – pool, gym, coffee shop, restaurants, spacious rooms with great views, immaculate cleaning and superb breakfasts, leaving almost nothing to complain about. The downside was the very slow front‑desk team; six receptionists took an hour to check us in, initially blaming laziness, then blaming the 3,300‑metre altitude for making people short of breath and wasteful with oxygen.

“Comfortable stay”

A dinner buffet that was really good, a swimming pool, a jacuzzi, and oxygen in the rooms – nothing else to complain about.

The common areas were spectacular, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was good, and the quiet part of the city is a 15‑minute walk from the old town – nothing else.
