The room was very comfortable with a pleasant view and a good shower. The only downside was that there were no breakfast facilities at this pub.

Old coaching inn,which long ago was on the A1 but now in a quiet village. Reasonably easy to find and seemed to be ample parking. My room was a bit eccentric in that there were basically 3 rooms, (two of them small) plus a much larger than average ensuite. Not a lot of furniture though. The host was very chatty and pleasant. There were quite a lot of fairly steep stairs,to all the rooms I think. I'm well below average height but I hit my head on the eaves once or twice. If you're 6ft be careful ! To be fair some of the rooms may not have that problem. The place is basically a village pub. I was there on a Saturday night and was a bit worried it might be more crowded than I like. In fact the opposite was the case. By 8.30 the landlord and myself were the only people left. No breakfast option when I was there. I think there sometimes is

The staff were friendly, the pub was great, and the food was good.

I didn’t have breakfast, and the room didn’t have hot water until after 9:30 pm. The bed could have been better, but the updated room was clean and bright. The downside was no hot water for the shower, and the staff never mentioned when breakfast was served or asked if we wanted anything else.

I booked this place for myself and two colleagues, and they described it as a pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff and perfect quiet for sleeping. The food was outstanding and plentiful, so we had to take some home. They recently stayed at two other spots in Boroughbridge and have asked to be booked back here in the future. Nothing negative.
