The bed was super comfy and spotless, and we dined at the on‑site restaurant in the evening—food was great. The hosts were friendly and helpful throughout our overnight stay.

“Marco, Claudine and Ines treat you like the first guests they have ever served. A wonderful warm atmosphere”

Marco, Claudine, and Ines are the most wonderful hosts; they clearly love taking care of guests. From the moment we arrived we felt completely at home. Marco, the chef, suggested traditional dishes that were on the menu that night and they were delicious. This place is a perfect stopover for anyone walking the many Chemins that pass through Le Monastier—a home away from home. The added touches make it special: a lounge area, a large communal fridge for food or drinks, complimentary Crocs for the Aubergue, and a lovely breakfast laid out with care. The genuine, warm care for guests is evident. I would highly recommend it.

“Séjour agréable, je recommande!”

The owner is very pleasant, smiling and kind. Breakfast is hearty and tasty. The single room is simple but efficient and sufficient. We had a good stay. The view isn’t exceptional, but that wasn’t what we were looking for. We were on the Stevenson route and arrived at the opposite side of the inn. The last kilometre felt long to get to.

The hostess gave a superb welcome and opened the doors two hours early to satisfy our craving for a beer. The rooms were clean, and the dinner was incredibly good. It’s well‑located for GR70 walkers. The twin room I shared with a friend felt a bit tight, and I’m not a fan of showers where the head can’t be hooked to the wall.
