The Best Western Childress West Hotel is located one mile from the Childress Country Club's nine-hole golf course. Minutes from the Childress County Heritage Museum and Regional Medical Center, the hotel offers access to Childress Lake and Baylor Lake for fishing and recreation. Amenities include a free hot breakfast, indoor heated pool, hot tub, exercise room, and free wireless Internet. Rooms feature coffee makers, cable TV, and some with microwaves and refrigerators.

The room was clean and adequate, and the staff were friendly and helpful. But during our stay there was no elevator, and we had a lot of luggage, which was inconvenient. It seemed the hotel was being renovated and plans to install an elevator later. The price was high for the quality of the room, though everything in Childress is expensive right now. We’ve stayed at other Best Westerns that were much nicer.

The location was handy, but the place definitely needs an upgrade.

There was nothing positive to mention. The entrance was blocked by old beds, new mattress boxes, and trash, even obstructing the handicap ramp and parking spot. No discount was offered for the trashy, unsafe conditions, and there were no cancellation options. The experience was awful. I booked two rooms and should have received full refunds for both. I will never accept free or discounted rooms at Best Western hotels.

The property felt run down, parking was tight and my car doors got dinged. The shower needs work, the interior rugs in the hall were dirty, and traffic noise outside was loud.
