1. The location was very good, about 4‑5 km from Otaru city centre, with surrounding attractions like Shizunai Fishing Port, Observation Deck, Ryōgenten, and an aquarium; at dusk you could see a beautiful sunset. 2. The guesthouse had three rooms, each with its own bathroom; the first floor had a large living room, a dining area, and a kitchen equipped with all utensils for cooking and dining. There was an oven and a microwave. 3. A parking lot beside the beautiful garden in front of the guesthouse made moving luggage up and down easy. 4. The rooms were very tidy and clean, with high‑quality furniture and bedding, making it the best guesthouse I stayed in on this trip to Hokkaido. 5. The host was very friendly and personally handled check‑in and check‑out. During the stay any issues could be reported via message, and the replies were very quick, which was reassuring. No negatives.

The owner and staff were very kind and friendly. The room was clean and very spacious, and all shared areas and facilities were well supplied. The surroundings were quiet, so I really relaxed and felt at home every day. There were no bad points. The only thing that bothered me was the guests’ manners; the waste sorting wasn’t done, and I felt Japanese guests were worse than overseas ones. I’m ashamed as a Japanese person. I remembered this and would appreciate a shoe rack at the entrance next time.
