Hostel Qal'ai Khujand, situated 17 km from Khujand Airport, offers air‑conditioned rooms with private or shared bathrooms, free WiFi, and a communal kitchen. Guests enjoy a TV, electric kettle, slippers, and a scenic view of a local landmark, making it an ideal base for exploring Khujand.

The location is truly unbeatable—you’re inside the citadel and can walk easily to all the major tourist sights and a grocery store. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean, but the room was unfortunately very cold in October and we were told it was not possible to turn off the AC.

The location and helpful staff are great, but the toilet situation is bad. There is only one toilet and two showers for everyone, and people smoked there.

The view of the museum is grand, the room design is great, the location is very quiet, and the bathrooms are cleaned multiple times a day. The bed linen was initially only half unpacked because it wasn’t dry. The curtains couldn’t be pulled away from the window or fully closed. It wasn’t communicated that on Monday (a rest day in the fortress) you weren’t allowed to move around inside the fortress, even though the hostel is located there.

This hostel is inside the fortress, giving an unbelievable view from the windows. The rooms are spacious, beautifully carved, the beds are comfortable, and everything is clean. As a resident, you can enter the fortress and the museum for free and enjoy the balcony view. It’s worth a visit to Khujand just for this experience!
