The décor was modern, the place offered three bedrooms and the check‑in and check‑out processes were smooth and fast, but the bedroom lacked blackout curtains, there was no socket in the bathroom (at least none that I could find), the outdoor area around the house could have been better maintained, and for an off‑season weekend the house’s position right next to the indoor‑pool water slide and the main road was a bit hard to tolerate.

The location is lovely, and it’s special that every house has a terrace right on the canal. We had a coffee capsule machine and an ice chest above the fridge, which was very handy. We enjoyed the indoor pool and the walking and cycling paths to explore the area were directly accessible from the park. Across from the park there’s a small beach right on the IJsselmeer. Unfortunately, when we arrived the entire dishware, cooking utensils, and cutlery were so dirty that we had to clean everything ourselves. We would have liked cleaning supplies, utensils, and a washing machine to be available. Having two or three coin-operated washing machines on the park grounds would have been helpful. The reception staff’s information on this was also unhelpful when we tried to find alternatives.

Our holiday home ("Dijkhuis 6") matched the pictures; the little garden by the water was very nice. The location is good – you can walk to the sea and to the town. The staff were friendly. Parking in front of the house was possible. There’s a restaurant and an indoor pool on the premises. Value for money is okay. The house was quite old, and there was no cutlery – this was promptly fixed by the friendly ladies at reception. Unfortunately, the house was not really clean.
